ARTISTE Collection: Alix XU

Alix Xu, an artist residing in Marchissy in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, began her artistic journey in 1995 in Beijing. After her first years in China, she experienced a decisive moment during her stay in Paris at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, where she broadened her artistic perspective and enriched her approach. Alix fuses Asian elements with contemporary European techniques and concepts, thus combining tradition and modernity in her work. Mastering watercolor, oil painting and Chinese painting, Alix explores the subtle relationships between man, nature and animals in her works. Her creations reflect this harmony, where colors and shapes dialogue with a particular sensitivity, testifying to an encounter between Asia and Europe. Inspired by the Swiss landscapes and the stories of the inhabitants, Alix translates her emotions and reflections into works where painting and sometimes poetry come together, thus creating a deeply personal and introspective artistic experience.
